so my placement was in community brain injury so i didn't have too much interaction with assistive technology how ever i was told about one thing that the clients have to do before they can get medical clearance to drive unfortunately i never saw this in practice i did learn about it. it is a driving simulator where an assessor comes to your house and hooks the program up to your tv, its kind of similar to a video driving game really quite cool, but basically what it is doing is test your reflectes, judgement skills and general ability to drive.
other assistive technology was a mouse clicker for the computer because a particular client couldnt grip a mouse. and also while i didn't use them cameras where able to be used a lot to help with memory, sequencing and processing information when doing intervention with the clients.
